About Us

How it started

We are an independent Christian charity started in 1896 and our management team, chaired by the Rev Jon Honour, has representatives from a number of churches.

We are supported by many denominations of church on the Island including Baptist, Church of England, Methodist, New Frontiers, Catholics and Salvation Army in both practical and prayerful ways.

We are registered charity number 020 with the Association of Guernsey Charities.

Social Security provide a grant towards funding the employment of two part-time welfare workers but all our other expenses are met by donations from churches, individuals, local businesses and grant-making bodies. We also have a fund raising committee who organise lunches, concerts and other fund raising events.
