We operate the largest foodbank in Guernsey, supported by many churches, individuals and businesses.
The main store is upstairs at Holy Trinity Church and items may be dropped off there during the church’s normal opening hours of 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

Tinned vegetables (peas, carrots, sweetcorn, potatoes)

Fray Bentos pies
Pasta (we have large stocks)

Satellite collection points
Around the Island we have established satellite collection points where members of a working community or church congregation support the work of our Foodbank by donating goods on a regular basis.
Current participants are:
Town Church, Spurgeon, Church on the Rock, St Martin’s Church, St Andrew’s Church, St Peter’s Church, St Sampson’s Church, Les Camps Methodist Church, St Joseph’s Church, Wesley Methodist Church, St Stephen's Church, Holy Trinity Church, St John's Church, Capelles Methodist Church, St Matthew's Church, Northern Trust, Vale Church, Salvation Army, St Andrew's Church of Scotland, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Others arrange collections on an ad hoc basis and these include:
Education Department, Medical Specialist Group, Queen’s Road Medical Practice, Aon Insurance, Guernsey Financial Services Commission, Intertrust, The Plough, Vale Primary School, Beechwood School, Vauvert Primary School, BDO, KPMG, Swoffers.

Supermarkets and Food Waste
Waitrose in the Rohais and Admiral Park and Co-Op Grand Marche in St Martin's and the Bridge have permanent collection points at their exits where shoppers can donate any time they are shopping.
We work with the Co-Op, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer to alleviate food waste on the Island and also to be able to benefit our clients by being able to offer fresh items alongside the store cupboard items that the foodbank has traditionally stocked. We currently make 13 collections a week. We have fridges and freezers in place to be able to store the items safely and, having begun collections in September 2017 we now have a good system in place and are pleased to be saving many items from being thrown away and putting them to good use with families who appreciate them.
What to donate
We are happy to receive any tinned, dried or packaged goods that have a long use by date. Most of our clients are families with young children so mild flavours and child friendly food is appreciated.
The demand on our service is much increased in December when we also like to give out extra treats such as chocolates, selection boxes, mince pies etc. Other churches, businesses and individuals help us greatly at this time with extra gifts and these are most welcome though are needed as early in December as possible. We are also happy to receive Easter Eggs, as long as they are in good time for Easter, bearing in mind that we will be shut on Good Friday.
